Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a Somatic Experiencing® (SE) session?
I’ll invite you to slow down and notice what’s happening in your body – sensations, impulses, emotions – and we follow those cues gently. We work in small steps so it feels safe and manageable.
Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?
Not at all. In fact, you don’t have to share the story for SE to be effective. The work is about how your nervous system is holding onto the experience now, and how we can guide it back into balance.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s journey is different. Some notice shifts after just a few sessions; for deeper patterns, we may work together longer. We’ll move at your pace, guiding you in a way that feels safe and sustainable.
Can this work feel intense?
The goal is for it never to feel overwhelming. We use titration (breaking things into small pieces) and pendulation (moving between comfort and activation) so your system has time to process and integrate each step.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes – SE works just as well online as it does in person. Many clients appreciate being able to do this work from the comfort of their own space.
