In the past, therapy didn’t work well for you. Or it went too slow or without enough tangible results.
Have you gotten jaded by the many therapists you write to or reach out to, but they don’t even bother to email or call back?
Perhaps you had a therapist for years but moved out of state, and the silly state laws don’t let you keep seeing them.
Maybe you have had therapy but were disappointed by how the therapist handled you. Although you went for years, little change was experienced, or she just heard your updates but didn’t work with you to co-create change.
It’s time to experience a therapy that works!
Welcome to this boutique practice, where I would like to have an initial consultation and learn more about you.
I won’t just hop on the phone and let you flounder. Instead, I’ll powerfully guide you into seeing what you need and whether we’re a good fit.
By asking the right questions. I can help you see patterns and connect the dots you had been intuiting for a long time but couldn’t quite place your finger on or put a name to. It will feel relieving to feel seen in this profound way, not so alone. You will start to experience hope right away! That’s the power of being seen.
You’ll get assignments/exercises to do at home, things to focus on and practice, questions to ponder and journal on. If you don’t do it, there is no pressure (it’s not school!). Regardless, I will be a powerful ally for you who is willing to meet you as long as you invite me to go with you.
Positive change is possible!
Clients who do sessions with me are amazed that after about three months of dedicated work, they see significant shifts in their lives. They have dramatically renewed clarity and purpose and an awareness of what is ailing them, where they’re currently headed, and their next steps.
It’s an invaluable relief to be aware and able to name exactly what’s happening and have the resources and tools to accomplish your goals.
In a world where there’s such a flood of information, to have that dedicated, committed time with someone who has their undivided attention on you, who is listening and writing things down you say, connecting the dots and helping you see your blind spots, cutting away all the unnecessary and bringing your attention to the essential pieces you need to be seeing to guide your life the way you need to have the BEST life that you envision, is INVALUABLE!
Therapy will become your sacred oasis.
You are tired of self-doubting, of that gnawing sensation in your gut, the tightness in your throat or jaw, and the thwarted intuition, but something isn’t entirely clear. Well, search no longer because I am your ally.
I will partner with you to take a deep look, applying all of the knowledge I’ve gained through my studies and experience in life, as well as with the hundreds of humans who have entrusted me with their lives and most profound, darkest secrets.
We will use all this to get to the heart of the matter and get you back on your feet as quickly as possible.
Women have the power to change the world.
My vision of the world is a world that works, where people care about each other – women, children, families, all of us – and life on this Planet (nature, rocks, water, forests).
I look around and see so many things that don’t work. Some of the most amazing women in my life have often felt or been stopped by circumstances. My Mission in life is to empower women to speak up, stand up, set boundaries, and live their most empowered, thriving, embodied, joyful lives as possible!
The more women are in their bodies, not disconnected from them, and able to access and express their anger, joy, desires, grief, and so on, the more they can find their voice and speak up, stand up, and set boundaries. By gaining that voice, they can help align our current world with beauty and fairness for all.
My work helps me live this mission in service of my vision of the world.
About Tanya Dantus, LMFT, SEP
Finding my place in life was challenging.
Growing up between Mexico and the United States with a complex family dynamic – split parents, a stepmother, all half-siblings – I often felt caught between worlds, never quite fully belonging anywhere.
This intersectional identity experience taught me early on about the nuances of navigating different spaces while carrying the weight of intergenerational patterns and cultural expectations.
After completing my BA at Columbia University in New York, I returned to Mexico to immerse myself in Indigenous people’s wisdom and healing practices. There, I began in-depth work of addressing my inherited trauma and cultural baggage. I discovered the power of women’s circles, somatic work, and holistic approaches. As a result, I became certified as a yoga therapist, reiki, and massage, facilitating rituals and circles and exploring how movement, dance, and ritual could reduce the healing I sought.
Life circumstances eventually brought me back to the US, where I continued my healing journey at Shakti Rising, an alternative women’s recovery center. Living and apprenticing there for two years, I studied herbalism and worked alongside women in recovery, witnessing how community and embodied practices could transform lives, including my own.
Motherhood became an outstanding teacher of boundaries, saying “no” and breaking codependent patterns I’d inherited. If I wanted my son to pursue his dreams someday, I needed to model living my own and break the cycles I’d witnessed. This realization propelled me back to school to earn my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute while raising my young son.
Thus, my professional journey began.
That journey led me to spend seven years living and working in Germany, further expanding my understanding of cultural influences on identity and healing. Along the way, I became a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, equipping me to work effectively with trauma at the body level similar to the one I had experienced firsthand.
The “RIFRA Method” (Root-Impact-Feel-Reflect-Action) emerged from my healing work, which I developed by testing what worked in my life. This approach now helps my clients, particularly sensitive and successful women who struggle with boundaries and people-pleasing, to heal at the root level while creating practical change in their lives.
RIFRA is a unique approach that blends Somatic Experiencing, Depth Psychology, and Expressive Arts to address these challenges at their core. Unlike approaches focusing solely on behavior change or past analysis, this method helps women heal at the root level while creating practical change in their lives.
Today, I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT).
I work with clients in California, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona. I gained experience through prestigious institutions like The Meadows, where I was trained in Post Induction Therapy. I still run their Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program, helping high-achieving professional women who appear successful on the outside but feel stuck, disconnected, and weighed down by codependency, attachment wounds, and inherited beliefs.
My work has helped me recognize a constellation of symptoms as what I call “Modern Detachment Syndrome” – a widespread but often misunderstood condition many women experience in today’s high-pressure world. I also lead group programs like “Right HerStory,” where women reclaim their narratives through guided storytelling and performance. Watching my clients transform from constantly saying “yes” when they mean “no” to confidently owning their power affirms that sharing my healing journey was worth it. I’m known for creating safe spaces for women to explore their full range of emotions, especially the ones our culture often discourages, like anger and grief.
Through individual and group work, I guide clients in reclaiming their authentic voice and setting boundaries without guilt, moving them from emotional overwhelm to profound clarity and confidence.
